Jeff Dunham was married to Paige Dunham for 14 years. His success combined with much travelling seems to have been the reason behind their divorce. But he did begin dating Audrey Murdick even before his divorce was through. The split was not entirely amicable in the end and Audrey even sued Paige.

Married for 14 years
Jeff Dunham, ‘America’s favorite comedian‘ (as polled by Slate.com), had a whirlwind courtship with his then first wife-to-be, Paige Brown after meeting her in West Palm Beach. They obviously swept each other off their feet as they dated for a mere three months before getting engaged.
It’s interesting to note that Paige, a smart businesswoman in her own right and a single mother of a baby girl, Bree, agreed to an engagement after such a short period of knowing one another despite an earlier unsuccessful relationship with her daughter’s father. She is an advocate for divorced women and has helped many women through traumatic break-ups and divorces. Apparently, she forgot everything in the first hectic rush of love and agreed to a quickie engagement. She showed equal haste in getting hitched; in 1994, Paige found herself married to Jeff after being engaged to him for just one year. All was hunky-dory in their marital life and Jeff even adopted Bree.
Their own daughters, Ashlyn and Kenna, were born in 1995 and 1997, respectively.
Paige turned homemaker to look after the girls, and soon started focusing her business skills on her husband; she has been in fact, credited with being the major driving thrust behind Jeff’s success. She not only helped with his scripts and show ideas, but also supervised his brand merchandise and expanded his many business and philanthropic interests, including setting up the Jeff and Paige Dunham Foundation to help people in need
But his success and accompanying travel requirements turned up the first cracks in their marriage. Paige and Jeff began living separate lives and the appearance of Audrey Murdick did not help matters at all.
Dating Audrey, divorcing Paige
It’s fairly easy to construe a connection between Audrey’s appearance in Jeff’s life as his personal trainer and nutritionist and the demise of his marriage to Paige. Whilst Paige and Jeff spent more and more time apart, Jeff and Audrey had room to grow closer. Plus, Audrey is significantly younger than Paige and Jeff, very attractive and successful in her own right.
It’s easy to believe that Jeff might have fallen for her whilst he was still married to Paige. But they officially began dating only in 2009, though Jeff filed for divorce in 2008. And yes, it was him who filed, not his wife. Clearly, he had a good reason to.
Feelings must have been there between him and Audrey. Let’s hope he did the right thing by filing for divorce before actually hooking up with Audrey. Surely his wife and mother of his children would deserve as much.
We know practically nothing about the divorce proceedings. They dragged out for some time because the divorce was only finalized in 2010. In the meantime, Jeff and Audrey were happily dating.
Paige apparently once said that Audrey had only been one of the reasons behind the divorce, but that Paige herself had been at fault as well. It is usually more than one factor that leads to a break-up.
To their credit, Audrey and Jeff only became engaged in December 2011, long after the divorce was through. And then they married a whole 11 months later, in October 2012.
Suing for cyberpiracy
That the split was not entirely amicable between Jeff and Paige seems to be underlined by a strange occurrence in 2015. Apparently, Paige registered several domain names under Audrey Dunham (even before Audrey had taken Jeff’s name in marriage). Audrey, who obviously wanted the right to her marital name and had filed for trademark registration, ended up suing page for cyberpiracy, unfair competition and for damages of $100,000 per domain name.
It’s difficult to assume that Paige had charitable thoughts when registering those domain names. There are a lot of things really quite wrong with such an act.
Unfortunately, we were unable to determine how the case ended, but we can assume that it was somehow settled. A major lawsuit would certainly have made the news.
Becoming a father again
In any case, Jeff and Audrey continued to enjoy wedded bliss. In May 2015 the couple announced that they would become parents of twin boys.
And in October Audrey gave birth to Jack Steven and James Jeffrey, completing the family.
Jeff and Audrey are still happily married and will hopefully remain happily married.
