The stars of hit TLC reality TV series “Little People, Big World” Matthew and Amy Roloff have finally separated after having been married for over 26 years. The couple announced their decision to part ways and try living separate lives in March this after years of strife and multiple failed attempts at reconciliation. The couple is currently going through a trial separation which is expected to conclude in the near future according to sources. As of now, neither Matt nor Amy is in a new relationship which means that a divorce may not necessarily be on the cards just yet even though they have practically been living separate lives for a while now.
According to statement the Roloffs issued to People magazine a few months back – “Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation.” Nonetheless, despite their on-going separation, Matt is still living with his family on their Oregon farm property at the family guest house. Amy added that despite the fact that they are no longer living under the same roof; Matt was still working together with Amy on their many business ventures and helping raise their four children together.
Matt revealed to TLC that the couple’s marriage almost broke down around Thanksgiving last year. He added glumly that – “Amy and I stuck it out for years when maybe we shouldn’t have, I never quite felt at home in my own home. Something needed to change. We needed to try something different.” Unlike his partner who has been relatively tight-lipped on this issue, Matt made no secret that the couple had been fighting for several years before eventually making this decision that has come as a huge shock to so many of their fans.
Rumors alleging marital troubles started making an appearance in December last year after TLC shared previews from their hit show “Little People, Big World” which hinted that their marriage had hit an all time low. In fact, the couple has been caught bickering on the reality show on multiple occasions one of which ended in a heated confrontation where the two of them spoke about ending their marriage and selling their farm.
Despite their protracted marital troubles, their decision to separate has shocked and surprised millions of their fans worldwide. The reality TV stars of “Little People, Big World”, Matthew and Amy Roloff have stayed together for over 26 years and have had four children together—twins Jeremy and Zack, 23, Molly, 20, and Jacob, 17.
